The Martyrs of Palestine

This is for the Palestinian mothers who brought life into this world, only to never see their children grow old in it…

The Palestinian fathers who fought until the very end to protect their families and what was rightfully theirs…

The children who were completely robbed of their childhoods and never got to see a free Palestine…

The elders that physically could not retaliate, but had the revolutionary mindset since birth…

The Palestinian bloodlines that were completely wiped out, and not a single member of the family remains…

The Palestinian men, whose lives were looked over because they were not women or children, your life still equally mattered…

The deceased that still remain unidentified, but are buried in mass graves, never to get a proper burial…

The ones who left this earth but had little to no remains left to identify them, their families will never get that closure…

This is dedicated to you, the martyrs of Palestine.

You fought for your country, your people, your right to exist, and now, you are buried and literally one with your country.

You are the seeds that will grow and blossom when Palestine is free.

Your stories of bravery and the ultimate sacrifice will forever be told for generations to come.

The whole world is watching, your suffering and deaths will not be in vain.

Long live the Martyrs of Palestine.

Don’t Look Away

The content from Palestine is graphic, but don’t look away.

The footage is plenty, but that doesn’t make it any less heartbreaking each time.

Their cries for help are loud and clear, but our president still looks away.

Elders are forced to leave their homes, but they should be enjoying the lives that they’ve built and worked so hard for.

The children are strong warriors, but their childhoods are completely destroyed.

Hospitals and places of worship are being targeted, but they’re still claiming this is a fair “war.”

Palestinians are being left without water, food, and connection to the outside world, but their suffering’s still being justified.

The world is asking for a cease fire, but the genocide continues.

They want this to blow over and have people slowly forget as time passes, but don’t look away.

History Repeats

100 years from now, the president of the United States will give a public apology for the crimes committed in Palestine.

They will speak of the injustices, the propaganda, how this was a shameful dark time in American history, and call it what it is – a genocide.

This is happening right now – children being murdered, bloodlines being completely wiped out, desperate cries for a cease fire.

This is all unfolding in real time.

This apology will come. And what a shame that this realization will come decades too late.

Why wait when Palestinians are being murdered, displaced, and traumatized right now?

The children of the future will open up their textbooks and learn about this tumultuous time, and how the United States funded this genocide.

History repeats itself time and time again, yet we never learn the lesson.

I’ve always wondered what part I would play during historic revolutions.

One day, the future generations will ask what you did at this exact moment.

We don’t have to wait centuries to admit that what’s happening in Palestine is wrong and unethical.

We won’t need the future generations to apologize for our current actions if we are taking action now.

Palestine, I’m sorry we’re failing you.

Neutral Nonsense

There’s a reason why people’s first instinct is to remain neutral during conflict.

As a nation we’ve been taught to only care about self…

If it’s not our country, not our people, not something that directly impacts us – it’s not our problem.

We are taught to not rock the boat, to not question authority, to see both sides.

Now don’t get it twisted – obviously you need to do research to know the full story and full history of a situation to come to a conclusion.

But after that assessment, if there’s a clear aggressor, it’s important to stand in solidarity with those that are being oppressed and fight for their liberation.

There comes a point where neutrality turns into betrayal.

Choosing to remain impartial in this situation is denying a race’s reality, it’s turning a blind eye to facts, it’s letting a genocide continue.

How can you be neutral during a genocide?

There is power in the shares, the likes, the advocacy.

If you’re hesitant to speak up, just know that that’s not by accident.

Neutrality from a nation is key… to start a war.

Save Palestine

This is not where I want my tax dollars to go.

We’re funding a genocide, but that we already know.

Or maybe you don’t. And it’s foolish of me to automatically assume,

that you too are watching the news shaking your head, all of us safe in our rooms.

The propaganda in western news media will try to have you think that this is all justified.

Seeing uncensored footage of babies, children, women, the innocent suffering and dying – I refuse to have that be normalized.

I beg you to not let the countless violent videos have you desensitized.

It breaks my heart to see news conferences taking place amongst the dead, in hopes that people will care.

For we have the luxury to look away when we are overwhelmed, simply because we’re not there.

Wake up! Don’t have western media have you on the wrong side of history.

Why some choose to stay silent or turn a blind eye will always be a mystery.

My heart breaks for all the lives that have been lost and affected.

And America has blood on their hands for leaving Palestine neglected.

The whole world is watching, what are we going to do?

Silence speaks louder than words, we know this to be true.

Absolutely devastated, but what else can I say?

Free Palestine. Save Palestine. I know we’ll see the day.

Save Yourself

I don’t know who needs to hear this but…

Nobody is going to save you.

You have to want to save yourself.

Don’t let your successes or failures be dependent on others.

You are in control of your own life.

You can talk all the talk you want, but will you put in the effort?

If you’re waiting on someone to save you, you’ll be waiting forever.

Bet on yourself.

If not you, then who?

Weekend Mindset

I used to force myself to the finish line of every week.

Weekdays were simply days I just had to do.

So life would pause.

My life resumed on the weekends.

What I found was obvious.

You can’t pause life.

Don’t waste your days waiting for the weekend.

Sprinkle in things that bring you joy every day.

What a waste it would be to only live 2 days out of the week.

Live every day.

Fuck Yes

If it’s not a “fuck yes,” I don’t want it.

Don’t confuse your uncertain indifferent “I guess”

with an assured and undeniable “fuck yes.”

Never again.

Be confident in your choices.

Gone are the days of people pleasing.

Make a conscious effort to only entertain

what brings sparks to your heart.

If it’s not a “fuck yes,” it’s a “fuck no.”

Write It Out

Trigger fingers in full effect.

Going 100 words per second.

Not sugarcoating shit.

Not to be posted.

Not to be shared.

Not for your eyes.

I write because I want answers.

Answers from myself.

I’ve found that they don’t always reveal

themselves straight out the gate.

When I read through my unfiltered writing and thoughts,

I take a journey through my own mind.

I see how my mind works.

What I’m hung up on.

Why I still feel the need to write about it.

What needs my attention.

My advice is this:

When in doubt, write it out.

I hope you find the answers you’re looking for.

Answered

Note to self –

You are living what you once prayed for

at this exact moment in your life.

You can get so caught up on the next thing

that you forget you’re currently living a prayer.

Stand still for a moment and take it in.

That peace you used to beg the universe for?

The desire to better your life?

The inner happiness you hoped for?

The natural gratitude for all you have?

The “hopefully one day” wish your heart dreamed of?

That day is here. It’s right now.

How beautiful it is to live an answered prayer.
